Does the perfect work of art exist? What does “perfect work of art” even mean? The answer to this question has to be ironic?
\nBig Data changes our way of thinking and acting radically: we can do things that we could never do before. Modern technology enables us to record and analyse an enormous amount of data; amongst other things information about successful and popular art, as well as the way it is consumed. The results of these analyses are used to generate economically successful productions. Is it possible to label a succession of statistically defined success strategies as art? Will the artists one day be replaced by machines, which will generate art based on actual trends and events? Will art, as a result of this, become more actual and contemporary, in ultimate harmony with the zeitgeist?<\/p>\n

In “We know what’s hot where and when” Amit Jacobi questions the hypothesis of a possibly perfect performance. Together with performer Ixchel Mendoza Hernandez, Beat-Maker and Sound-Artist Rocky B and fine artists Moran Sanderovich, Monika Grabuschnigg and Anna Trautfest, Jacobi will design a chaotic space, in which a – based on a statistically designed success recipe – Megamix, consisting of fine art, short scenes, Spoken Word and choreographies, will be exhibited and performed.<\/p>\n

If art is just a product and artists replicate and refine the recipe for success piece by piece to increase their success, will this art still have enough interspace that is open for subversion? Or will this subversion be fully integrated into the cynical entertainment mechanism, in order to guarantee the actual identification of the individual with his environment and thus with society as a whole?<\/p>\n

Gibt es ein perfektes Kunstwerk? Was hei\u00dft \u00fcberhaupt “perfektes Kunstwerk”? Ist die Antwort auf diese Frage unbedingt eine ironische?<\/p>\n

Big Data ver\u00e4ndert unser Denken und Handeln radikal: wir k\u00f6nnen Dinge tun, die wir niemals tun konnten. Die heutige Technologie erm\u00f6glicht es, gro\u00dfe Menge an Daten aufzuzeichnen und zu analysieren, darunter auch Informationen \u00fcber gelungene, popul\u00e4re Kunstwerke, sowie die Art und Weise, wie sie konsumiert werden. Die Ergebnisse dieser Analysen werden genutzt, um wirtschaftlich erfolgreiche Kulturprodukte zu generieren. Kann eine Reihe statistischer Erfolgsstrategien m\u00f6glicherweise als Kunst bezeichnet werden? Werden die Kunstschaffenden irgendwann durch Maschinen, die anhand von aktuellen Trends und Ereignissen automatische Kunst generieren, ersetzt? Wird dadurch die Kunst immer aktueller, zeitgen\u00f6ssischer, im ultimativen Einklang mit dem Zeitgeist?<\/p>\n

In “We know what’s hot where and when” hinterfragt Amit Jacobi die Annahme einer m\u00f6glichen perfekten Performance. Zusammen mit der Performerin Ixchel Mendoza Hernandez, dem Beat-Maker und Sound-Artist Rocky B und den bildenden K\u00fcnstlerinnen Moran Sanderovich, Monika Grabuschnigg und Anna Tautfest, entwirft Amit Jacobi einen chaotischen Raum, in dem ein nach dem statistischen Erfolgsrezept konzipierter Megamix aus bildender Kunst, Kurzszenen, Spoken-Word und Choreographien zur Schau gestellt und ausgetestet wird.<\/p>\n

Wenn die Kunst nur ein Produkt ist, und die K\u00fcnstler von Werk zu Werk ihr Erfolgsrezept replizieren und verfeinern, um noch mehr Erfolg zu haben, wird diese Kunst noch einen Zwischenraum beinhalten, der offen f\u00fcr Subversion ist? Oder wird das Subversive im zynischen Unterhaltungsmechanismus integriert, um die unmittelbare Identifizierung des Einzelnen mit seiner Gesellschaft und dadurch mit der Gesellschaft als Ganzem zu gew\u00e4hrleisten?
